A1036 Stella Grand Concert 12-string Guitar ...Made in Jersey City, circa 1932. I don't think I need to emphasize the rarity of Stella 12-strings! And they produce a sound unlike anything else! This example has been restored to excellent playing condition. It has superb action - plays like butter! And naturally, it has the big bold sound that only a vintage Oscar Schmidt Stella can produce! 14 3/4" lower bout, 26 1/2" scale. Red spruce top, birch sides and back, rope marquetry. One repaired top crack next to fingerboard extension on bass side; several repaired back cracks and one repaired side crack. Neck has been reset. New bridge plate. The new (compensated) rosewood bridge is faithful copy of original early thirties, 12- pin bridge that came on this instrument. Several mystery holes drilled in sides and back have been repaired. Original finish with very light overspray on top and back. When found, the top had been "hand decorated" by a former owner, using what appeared to be red fingernail polish. With great patience, we were able to remove most of this without traumatizing the top. However, if one looks very closely, a few faint remnants of the red markings are still visible. Original tuners work great. Due to body shape and scale length, a form-fitting hard-shell case is difficult to find. Comes with older chipboard case. SOLD ($3995.00)

Above: close-up of spruce top. Note inlaid "rope" style purfling and rosette. Bridge is copy of original, but with compensated saddle. Intonation is excellent!

Above: Back, showing numerous repaired cracks and center decal stripe, which has been partially worn off .
